This white paper demonstrates how we can use the SAS Cloud offering product (SAS Viya) in combination with any of the public cloud providers to deploy a programming environment for development purposes. SAS provides a containerized image of the programming environment available in its docker registry. We simply download the image from the registry and deploy the environment using appropriate docker commands. We also demonstrate how resources can easily be added post deployment to meet increase in compute requirements. We have used GCP as our cloud provider but this can be performed on AWS as well as Azure.
